Retirement Community Living Made Simple

Holly Creek neighbors share about the hidden gems of retirement community life

Every day is a busy one for the average Denverite – between groceries, the gym, dinner and/or theater and all those odds-and-ends post office/jewelry errands, the trips stack up fast. But what if you could do all the errands without leaving your home? That is one of the many benefits of daily life at a retirement community.

“It’s amazing the number of offerings we have right here at Holly Creek,” says our Lead Concierge Kristy Andrews.

Amenities, services & programs that enhance your lifestyle

From front desk dry cleaning and package services to an onsite fitness center and indoor/outdoor pool, private dining, library, salon, and movie theater, the neighbors at Holly Creek have access to a host of services and amenities that make errands simpler and activities even more convenient. Our community even boasts its own art gallery, filled with residents’ own artwork and pieces they’ve collected, and gift shop, stocked with an assortment of boutique clothing and cards for every occasion.

Wes Couthen and his wife, Jeri, moved to Holly Creek early in 2023 and echoes a sentiment shared by one of his new neighbors: “As we were told by another resident, ‘You have to realize that the apartment is primarily your bedroom. The rest of the community is your home,’” Wes shares. “You have your own pool, dining, library and exercise facilities.”

Fitness classes & social gatherings

“I enjoy the pool and hot tub, and the fitness classes,” shares Mil Ehrhardt, who moved in with her husband John in 2021. “I go to Lindsey’s 8 o’clock class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and I love that they also have daily fitness classes available, and sometimes yoga as well.”

She also values our retirement community’s host of activities—including happy hours, Sunday services and Bible studies. “We appreciate all of the social opportunities, especially those with live entertainment. The Cortez movie theater is fun, and we also enjoy participating in the game nights.”

Household & repair services

In addition to various activities and household services, our community offers a number of repair services, with watch, jewelry, eyeglasses and tech repair regularly available. Not only are these opportunities convenient, but they also provide residents more time to savor a book with wine in the lounge or pursue activities they want to do outside the community. Resident Nancy Tipton has made regular use of our in-house jewelry repair service.

“They fixed everything I had,” she shares, which included refashioning an antique pin into a necklace and adding magnetic fasteners to an array of her necklaces. Instead of having to make multiple trips to a jeweler, she was able to get everything fixed easily at the community center, right across from her cottage home.

Dining options for any occasion

Tipton also regularly frequents our array of onsite restaurants, a favorite element of community life for the Ehrhardts as well. “Not having to cook and being served chef-prepared meals is wonderful. We eat in-house at the community 90% of the time—at the bistro or grill for lunch, and we usually go to the Centennials restaurant in the evening,” Mil Ehrhardt explained. Holly Creek also offers pick-up, delivery and catering services, not to mention transportation to other options in the area.
