Real estate experts share on the best ways to “upsize” living
For those looking to sell their home and consider downsizing in the next few years, now is the time to start planning. While the phrase “Denver real estate” has recently become synonymous with soaring prices and exceptional profit for sellers—that is slowly beginning to change. Since last year the market has begun to drop, and while prospective sellers will likely continue to have the upper hand for a while, sooner than later is the best mantra for those looking to downsize.
On October 4, Blair Bryant, Certified Senior Advisor for the Steller Real Estate Group, shared on the importance of downsizing and tips for timing and making the move well. He was joined at Holly Creek Life Plan Community in Centennial by CEO Cierra Olmstead of A Move Handled with Care. Olmstead, who spoke about how moving services can make the packing, transport and unpacking process much more manageable.
While fall is one of the best seasons to sell, the later part of the year can also be a great time for homeowners to start thinking about and planning for the moving process too.
“Downsizing is worth it anytime of year,” Olmstead explained, “and may even be easier right after the New Year and into spring because you don’t have outside distractions.”
At some point, everyone has to downsize. The change isn’t always easy, but with a good plan, it can be a positive one—especially for those who plan far enough in advance to do it well and sell while the market is still hot.
Bryant and Olmstead’s seminar was open to the public and held on October 4th at 11:00am in the Centennials Restaurant of Holly Creek Life Plan Community. The event was such a success that a second seminar has been scheduled for October 18th at 1:00pm.
